Event Description: Mary Mallahan is a Ceramic Artist living and teaching on Northern California's redwood coast. Her workshop focuses on the continuing development of functional lidded containers and expressive servers for potlucks and food gatherings. Providing a personalized alternative to plastic, inspired by Pyrex and vintage glass refrigerator dishes. This inquiry largely remains centered on studies in form and texture within the context of functionality. Artists will learn how to create both wheel thrown and hand built food savers.Day one will include Demos on wheel thrown food saver and followed by slab built adaptation of ssame process. Also stamp making and use of other useful tools for embellishment.
